Situated on an acre of mature cedars and gardens, the 3 Bears is situated directly on the banks of the Grand River. With a rare sloping walk-down to one of the most scenic (and best fly fishing) stretches on the river, you can spend the day casting for brown trout, or just relaxing in a hammock and watching for "Art", our resident Blue Heron.

Our three guest rooms can sleep a maximum of nine if you're booking as a group. Two per room, however, is much more common. All rooms present a view of the river and the backyard gardens. There's a firepit for late-evening marshmallows and story-telling, a horeseshoe pit, a pair of Mayan hammocks, and ample outdoor seating areas.

Guest quarters are separate from the residence, (so you'll never feel intruding or intruded upon), with a private entrance through our Guest Kitchen. Here you'll find a fridge, microwave, coffee maker and other conveniences. The "Chart Room" features a pool table, upright piano, wood stove, radio, TV with DVD, a guest computer with high speed internet, darts, board games and a small library. There's also a double door walkout to the guest patio and grounds.

Small touches will make you feel welcome, including fresh-cut flowers, bottled water, stemware and a welcome folder with maps and special event brochures in each room. There are blow dryers in each bathroom and nightly turn-down service with a chocolate on the pillow. Breakfast menus are created daily from scratch: take a look at some sample items by clicking here. We have a wide selection of area restaurant menus on hand, and will gladly make your dinner reservations.

World-class fly fishing is accessible directly from our property. The Elora Gorge & Quarry, tubing on the Grand River, hiking / biking trails, shopping and the Wellington County Museum are all within a 5 minute drive. The market and shops of St. Jacobs are 25 minutes away.

All in all, it's a getaway to remember!

Cancellation Policy:

At the time of booking, 50% of the cost of your stay will be charged to your credit card. Balance of payment is due on the day of departure. Charges for bookings made within 48 hours of arrival or less will be processed in full. If you prefer to pay by cash upon departure, please let us know when you book.

Should you find it necessary to cancel your reservation, your deposit will be fully refunded (less 15% processing fee) provided that you notify us 7 days prior to check-in. Cancellations within 48 hours of check-in will be charged for the full amount of the reservation.

A full refund, less 15% processing fee, will be made if your room is re-booked for the cancelled dates.

Restrictions:

Stayed with us before? Returning guests receive the single-occupancy rate! We also offer a 15% discount to first-time guests on stays of more than 3 nights.

Our home is a "shoe-free zone", at least as far as outdoor footwear is concerned. If you like to wear something on your feet other than socks, please consider bringing along your slippers.

Please note that we require a minimum 2-night booking during weekends in July and August, as well as all long weekends throughout the year.

We request that guests refrain from using strong personal fragrances and perfumes during their stay at The 3 Bears, and respect the allergies and sensitivities of other guests.

Gift Certificates available

For the Record:
We have a zero-tolerance policy toward recreational drug use, and excessive use of alcohol. Excessive is defined as the point at which behaviour clearly interferes with the enjoyment of other guests or the hosts, and is determined at our sole discretion. Guests unable to comply with this policy will be asked to vacate immediately, and all fees for the entire reservation period will be immediately payable in full. We really hate to get technical, but your agreement to book with us indicates acceptance of these terms.

Smoking is NOT permitted anywhere on the premise. If you enjoy a butt or a Cuban cigar, you'll need to go down to the river or up to the road. We're sorry, but if we smell smoke in the house, we will establish the source, and if that's you, you may be asked to leave.
